 a) b) c)  Remove the rig pin A/S-4.Loosen the two locknuts on the valve rod for the power control unit at the bottom.Turn the adjustable sleeve until you can easily install rig pin A/S-4.
 (5)  S 865-009Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to the OFF position.
 (6)  S 865-010Set the FLT CONTROL B switch to the ON position. (a) Make sure the rig pin A/S-4 can move freely in the top bus drum. 1) If the rig pin cannot move freely, adjust the valve rod:
 CAUTION:_______ MAKE SURE TO REMOVE THE RIG PIN A/S-4 BEFORE YOU ADJUST THE VALVE ROD. FAILURE TO REMOVE THE RIG PIN A/S-4 CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 a)  Remove the rig pin A/S-4.

 b)  Loosen the two locknuts on the valve rod for the power control unit at the top.
 c)  Turn the adjustable sleeve until you can easily install rig pin A/S-4.

Set the FLT CONTROL A and B switches to the ON position.

 (a)  
Make sure the rig pin A/S-4 can move freely in the two bus drums.

 (b)  
Make sure the clearances between the lug of the top bus drum and the stop bolts on the bottom bus drum are as specified (Fig. 502). 1) Adjust the valve rods and stop bolts if it is necessary.

Remove the rig pin A/S-4.

 (9)  
Turn the aileron control wheel clockwise and counterclockwise from the neutral position.

 (a)  
Make sure the movement of the aileron is in the specified limit (Fig. 501).

 Tighten the valve rod locknuts.

 Tighten the stop bolt locknuts.

 Install the lockwire.

 Do a check of the autopilot system for the correct roll inputs:

 (a)  
Put the A/P ENGAGE A switch to CMD.

 (b)  
Push the HDG SEL button.

 (c)  
Set the BANK LIMIT switch to 10 and HEADING knob to give an indication of 10 degrees to the right of the airplane heading.

 (d)  
Make sure the control wheel turns clockwise.

 (e)  
Do steps (d) again in the left direction.

 (f)  
Make sure the control wheel turns counterclockwise.

 (g)  
Disengage the autopilot.

 E.  
Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

 (1)  Do this task to release pressure from hydraulic systems A and B: "Aileron Hydraulic Systems A and B Depressurization" (AMM 27-11-00/201).
