Open the access door of the lower nose compartment.

Do this task to depressurize hydraulic systems A and B: "Aileron Hydraulic Systems A and B Depressurization" (AMM 27-11-00/201).

Put the aileron control wheels in the neutral position.

Make sure the aileron trim control switches are at the zero trim position.

Install rigging pins A/S-1 and A/S-1A in the aileron transfer mechanism (Fig. 401).

Make sure the rigging pin A/S-1 is fully in the transfer mechanism.

(b) Hold the rigging pin A/S-1 to make sure it does not fall out.

Install rigging pin A/S-15 in the aileron trim mechanism.

Remove the Aileron Control Wheel Drum

(1)
Remove the control wheel drum (Fig. 401):
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector at the roll force transducer.
(b)
AIRPLANES WITH THE AILERON FORCE LIMITER; Disconnect the electrical connector at the aileron force limiter.
(c)
Remove the cable shields.
(d)
Disconnect then attach identification tags on all these cables: 1) The cables ACBA and ACBB at the turnbuckles. 2) The left cables AA and AB at the turnbuckles. 3) The control cables and the brake control cables of the
landing gear.
(e)
Remove the air duct of the control cabin.
(f)
Disconnect control cables of the speed brake at the turnbuckles.
(g)
Attach identification tags on the disconnected cables.
(h)
Remove the nuts, washers and bolts that connect the control wheel drum to the structure.
(i)
Move the control wheel drum down while you guide the cables ACBA and ACBB through cutouts until you can remove the assembly from the structure.
(j)
Remove the nuts, washers and bolts from the cable guards.
(k)
Remove the cable guards.
(l)
Disengage the cables AA and AB from the control wheel drum.
(2)
Do this task: "Roll Force Transducer Removal" (AMM 22-11-11/401).
