Make sure that the scale on the rigging beam is 2.25 inches inboard of the inboard end of the elevator tab.
(f)
Align the elevator trailing edge with the index mark on the rigging beam.
(g)
Hold the elevator at this position.
(h)
Use the inboard trailing edge of the elevator as an index point for installation or adjustment of the index plate.

4. Flap Rigging Beam Set Usage
___________________________
A. General
(1)
The F80209-1 flap rigging beam set includes the F80209-2 rigging beam for use on the outboard flaps, and F80209-3 rigging beam for use on the inboard flaps.
(2)
Instructions for use of the rigging beams are given in this procedure and also on a placard (Fig. 203). This procedure is applicable for the inboard and outboard rigging beams.
(3)
The marks on the bottom side of the wings are necessary to correctly use the rigging beams. If these marks are not on the airplane, add the marks as shown in Fig. 203.

Use the flap rigging beam to identify the neutral position of the inboard trailing edge flap:
(a)
Hold the flap rigging beam below the wing near the inboard end of the inboard flap.
NOTE: The nylon pad must be at the aft end, and the nylon rod
____ on the forward end on the black stripe marks.
(b)
Move the beam forward until the scale lightly touches the flap trailing edge.
(c)
Align the notch on the nylon pad at the aft end with the black stripe marks.
(d)
Align the notch on the nylon rod on the forward end with the black stripe marks.
(e)
Read the scale on the rigging beam to find the neutral position.
