BALANCE PANEL AND SEALS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. There is one task for the removal and one task for the installation of the balance panel and seals.
B. The removal and installation of the balance panel does not change the static balance of the aileron. The static balance of the aileron changes when the tab adjust weights are attached to the balance panel. Thus, when you replace the balance panel, you must install the same number of tab adjust weights on the replacement panel.
C. You can replace the seals with the balance panel installed.

(1)
Remove the access panel on the lower wing surface at the balance panel.
S 024-014
(2)
Remove the balance panel and seal:
(a)
Remove the retaining bolt of the forward hinge pin.
(b)
Remove the hinge pins.
(c)
Remove the bolts and seals at the inboard and outboard ends of the balance panel.
(d)
Remove the balance panel assembly from the wing structure.
(e)
Remove the bolts and seal retainers.
