1. General_______
A. There procedure contains one task. The task is a test of the flight control shutoff valve.

2. Flight Controls Shutoff Valve Test__________________________________
A. General
(1)
In this test procedure, the two shutoff valves are tested at the same time.
(2)
The flight controls shutoff valve and the spoiler shutoff valve are installed on the flight controls modular package. The left valve is the spoiler shutoff valve, the right valve is the flight controls shutoff valve.
(3)
The modular package valve for hydraulic system B is found in the right main wheel well. The modular package for hydraulic system A is found in the left main wheel well.

Do the Test of the Flight Control Shutoff Valves

(1)
Do a test of the shutoff valves:
(a)
Make sure the two FLT CONTROL switches on the flight controls panel, P5-3, are in the ON position.

(b)
Do a check that the manual override lever of the right valve motor on the two modular packages is in POSITION 1.
(c)
Operate the aileron control wheel to bleed air from the hydraulic system lines and components.
(d)
Make sure that there is no leakage of hydraulic fluid at the modular packages.
(e)
Operate the aileron control wheel, control column, and rudder pedals.
(f)
Make sure that the ailerons, elevators, and rudder operate satisfactory.
(g)
Set the two FLT CONTROL switches to the OFF position.
(h)
Make sure that the manual override lever of the right valve motor on the two modular packages is in POSITION 2.
(i)
Operate the rudder pedals.
NOTE: The rudder must not operate hydraulically, but
____ the rudder pedals will operate manually. Some rudder surface movement may occur if pedal input is large enough to mechanically displace the PCU actuating piston however, full rudder authority should not be available.
(j)
Make sure that the force necessary to operate the rudder pedals is higher than when you set the FLT CONTROL switches to ON.
F.
Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
