 B.  The flight controls shutoff valve and the spoiler shutoff valve are parts of the flight controls modular package. The left valve is the spoiler shutoff valve, and the right valve is the flight controls shutoff valve.
 C.  The modular package for the hydraulic system A is found in the left main wheel well. The modular package for the hydraulic system B is found in the right main wheel well.
 D.  Refer to AMM 27-09-41/401 for procedures on removal and installation of the spoiler shutoff valve.

This procedure is the removal of the shutoff valve assembly, which contains the motor and the valve. If it is necessary to only remove the motor, use the procedure in paragraph 4.

Make sure you depressurize the reservoir (AMM 29-09-00/201).

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P6-2 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) SHUTOFF VALVES - FLT CONT (two locations)

Remove the Flight Controls Shutoff Valve

Remove the shutoff valve:

 (a)  
Disconnect the electrical connector from the valve motor (Fig. 401).

 (b)  
Remove the four mounting bolts that attach the valve to the modular package housing.

 (c)  
Carefully turn and lift the shutoff valve straight up to remove it from the modular package housing.

 (d)  
Use a container to catch hydraulic fluid that drains from the valve.

 (e)  
Put a cover on the modular package housing to keep contamination out of the open valve hole.

 3.  Flight Controls Shutoff Valve Installation__________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
This procedure is the installation of the shutoff valve assembly, which contains the motor and the valve. If it is necessary to only install the motor, use the procedure in paragraph 5.
