(6) Measure the distance from the tab trailing edge to the extension of the aileron bottom surface with a straightedge or an aileron tab alignment protractor.
NOTE: The index mark on the aileron (Point B) must align with the
____ index mark on the wing (Point A) to 0.03 inch or less when you do this check.
If the tab trailing edge is above the extension of the aileron bottom surface, write down a plus (+) dimension. If the tab trailing edge is below the extension of the aileron bottom surface, write down a minus (-) dimension.
(a) Measure 0.50 |0.25 inch in from the inboard end of the tab.
1) Make sure the tab trailing edge aligns with the extension of the aileron bottom surface between +0.00 to +0.14 inch (Fig. 510).
2) Write down the distance.
(b) Measure 0.50 |0.25 inch in from the outboard end of the tab.
1) Make sure the tab trailing edge aligns with the extension of the aileron bottom surface between +0.00 to +0.14 inch (Fig. 510).
2) Write down the distance.
(c) Measure at the middle point along the tab.
1) Make sure that the tab trailing edge aligns with the extension of the aileron bottom surface between +0.05 to +0.09 inch (Fig. 510).
2) Write down the distance.
(d)
Add the total distances measured at three different points along the tab.
(e)
Make sure the sum of these distances is between +0.30 and +0.12 inch.

NOTE: Measure from a point along the trailing edge of the tab to
____
the extension of the aileron bottom surface.
