Put the aileron control wheels in the neutral position.
(a)
Make sure that the aileron trim switches are at the zero trim position.

Install the rig pins A/S-1 and A/S-1A in the transfer mechanism (Fig. 401).
(a)
Make sure the rig pin A/S-1 is fully in the transfer mechanism.
(b)
Hold two rig pins to make sure they do not fall out.

Install the rig pin A/S-4 in the aileron bus drums.

Install the rig pin A/S-3 in the right shaft of the aileron control quadrant.

Procedure

(1)
Remove the transfer mechanism (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the cable shields.
(b)
Disconnect the cables ACBA and ACBB at the turnbuckles.
(c)
Attach identification tags on the disconnected cables for easier assembly.
(d)
Disconnect the right cables AA and AB at the turnbuckles.
(e)
Attach identification tags on the disconnected cables for easier assembly.
(f)
Remove the nuts, washers and bolts that attach the transfer mechanism to the structure.
(g)
Move the transfer mechanism down while you put the cables ACBA and ACBB through the openings to remove the transfer mechanism.
(h)
Remove the nut, washers and screws from the cable guards.
(i)
Remove the cable guards.
(j)
Disengage the cables AA and AB from the transfer mechanism.
(k)
Remove the cables ACBA and ACBB from the transfer mechanism.
