E. Install the Flight Controls Shutoff Valve

(1)
Lubricate the five O-rings and backup rings with hydraulic fluid or assembly lubricant (Fig. 401).

Install the shutoff valve:
(a)
Install the five O-rings with the backup rings on the valve.
(b)
Carefully install the shutoff valve in the modular package housing.
(c)
Install the four mounting bolts.
(d)
Tighten the bolts to 30-40 pound-inches.
(e)
Install the lockwire on the four mounting bolts.
1) Make sure that you install the lockwire on the low pressure warning switch.
(f)
Connect the electrical connector to the valve motor.

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a)
P6-2 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) SHUTOFF VALVES - FLT CONT (two locations)

Do this task: "Flight Controls Shutoff Valve Test"
(AMM 27-09-31/501).

Do this task if servicing is necessary for hydraulic system A and B reservoirs: "Hydraulic Reservoirs Servicing" (AMM 12-12-00/301).

4. Flight Controls Shutoff Valve Motor Removal___________________________________________
A. General
(1)
The removal and installation of the valve motor is possible without the removal of the shutoff valve from the modular package.

C. Prepare for Removal

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a)
P6-2 Circuit Breaker Panel 1) SHUTOFF VALVES - FLT CONT (two locations)

Remove the valve motor (Fig. 401):
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the valve motor.
(b)
Set the manual override lever on the valve motor to POSITION 2.
(c)
Remove the four mounting screws that attach the valve motor to the valve.
(d)
Remove the valve motor from the valve.

Install the valve motor:
(a)
Set the manual override lever on the valve motor to POSITION 2.
(b)
Set the valve motor on the valve.
(c)
Engage the motor drive with the valve cam.
(d)
Install the four mounting screws.
(e)
Install the lockwire on the mounting screws.
(f)
Connect the electrical connector to the valve motor.
D.
Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
