(a)
Install the rig pins A/S-3 and A/S-4.
(b)
Remove the nut and washer from the bolt which holds the lock end of the spring cartridge.
(c)
Make sure the bolt that holds the lock end of the spring cartridge can move freely. 1) Adjust the spring cartridge if the bolt cannot move freely:
a) Remove the bolt.
b) Loosen the locknut.
c) Turn the rod end of the spring cartridge until you can easily install the bolt. d) Tighten the locknut to 10-20 pound-inches. e) Make sure the antirotation fork and the drain holes are
down. f) Install the bolt with washer and nut.
(d) Remove the rig pins A/S-3 and A/S-4.

Adjust the valve rods of the power control unit:
(a)
Move the aileron control wheels to the neutral position.
(b)
Put the straightedge across the top ends of the control wheels (Fig. 503).
(c)
Make sure that the aileron trim system is at the center.
(d)
Install the rig pin A/S-15.
(e)
Make sure that the trim roller is correctly installed against the cam detent.
(f)
Make sure the hydraulic systems A and B are not pressurized (AMM 27-11-00/201).
(g)
Install the rig pin A/S-4 (Fig. 504).
CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE THE VALVE LEVER WITH THE POWER CONTROL UNIT
_______ INSTALLED. IF YOU REMOVE THE VALVE LEVER, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
(h) Make sure the valve lever on each power control unit is at the center between the valve stops (Fig. 505). 1) If the valve levers are not at the center between the valve
stops, adjust the valve rods:
a) Loosen the two locknuts on the valve rod.
b) Turn the adjustable sleeve to put the valve lever at
the center between the valve stops (Fig. 505).

c) If you replace the valve rod, adjust the valve rod to
the specified dimensions (Fig. 505) ( IPC 27-11-14-01,
OHM 27-37-09, SB 27-1217 Parts II and III).
d) Remove the rig pin A/S-4.
e) Remove the straightedge from the control wheel.
(i) Pressurize the hydraulic systems A and B (AMM 27-11-00/201).
(j) Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to ON.
(k) Set the FLT CONTROL B switch to OFF.
(l) Make sure that the rig pin A/S-4 moves freely in the lower bus
drum.
1) Adjust the valve rod if the rig pin A/S-4 cannot move
freely in the lower bus drum.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE TO REMOVE THE RIG PIN A/S-4 BEFORE YOU_______
ADJUST THE VALVE ROD. IF YOU ADJUST THE VALVE
ROD WITH RIG PIN A/S-4 INSTALLED, DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
a) Remove the rig pin A/S-4.
b) Loosen the two locknuts on the valve rod for the power
control unit at the bottom.
c) Turn the adjustable sleeve until you can easily install
the rig pin A/S-4.
(m) Set the FLT CONTROL A switch to OFF.
(n) Set the FLT CONTROL B switch to ON.
(o) Make sure the rig pin A/S-4 moves freely in the top bus drum.
1) If the rig pin A/S-4 cannot move freely in the top bus
drum, adjust the valve rod:
