Also in line # 3, the DMU displays the present state of the general engine inhibit if the report number displayed is 06, 07 or 10. If no engine inhibit is engaged, a blank data space will be displayed. A '1' or '2' will mean that the report shown will not be generated for the first or second engine respectively. The DMU displays the present programmed values. The counters associated with the generation, storing, printing and linking of the report are on the left of the screen. The example shown on the menu 'AIDS REP NUM INHIBIT' means that the number of generations of report No. 10 for engine 1 is limited to 7 (during each flight leg). The number of how often the report No. 10 generated for engine 1 shall automatically be sent to the ACARS MU. This is limited to 2. The operator may modify the values via the scratchpad and by activating the appropriate LS keys on the left. Valid entries for the counters are null or 0 to 99. Where the null (or blank space) is used programming shall indicate that no limit exists for the function. A null entry can be created by using the CLR function. A '0' means that the function shall not be performed. The values will be stored in the RPMB and require access level 2 for programming rights.
Report Counter Increment (Ref. Fig. 040) In the header of each report appears a report generation counter. For each individual report the operator may program via the MCDU, whether or not the report generation counter is scheduled to be incremented. Only if the logic responsible for generating the report has a logic code greater than 1000. The procedure is as follows:
 -
select '<INDIVIDUAL REP PROG' on the AIDS Print Report Menu,

 -
select 'COUNTERS>' on the AIDS Individual Report Programming Menu,

-the AIDS Report Counter Page comes on.
The DMU displays the current status. If the report counter is scheduled to be incremented, the DMU will place a asterix on the right side of the NO option. If the counter is not scheduled to be incremented, the DMU will place a asterix on the left of the YES option on the line of the associated report. The operator may modify the status by activating the appropriate LS keys.

Once this in done, the DMU will temporarily store (and not
use) the new status until the 6L key (RETURN) is activated.
The default and programmed status is stored in the RPMB.
Access level 2 is the required to modify this function.

ACARS Logic Programming
 (Ref. Fig. 041)
The status which indicates whether the generated report shall
automatically be sent to ACARS may be changed via the MCDU.
 The procedure is as follows:

 -
select '<INDIVIDUAL REP PROG' on the AIDS Print Report Menu,

 -
select 'ACAR LINK>' on the AIDS Individual Report Programming Menu,

-the AIDS Report Counter Page comes on.
The DMU displays the report number beside the 1L key. To
change the report number the operator may activate the NEXT
PAGE button, or enter the desired report number via scratchpad
and 1L key. The operator is required to enter via the
scratchpad. Then by activating the 2L key, the desired trigger
codes shall cause an automatically transmission of the report
to the ACARS MU. On the screen is also displayed the state of
the flag. This is for reducing the characters in the report to
be sent to the MU to data and line identifiers. 'YES' means
that the DMU will not transmit the checksum and line headers.
The operator may change the state by activating one of the
appropriate LS keys. The operator may define by activating the
5L or 5R key whether or not the report shall be maintained in
the DMU report buffer. This is after transmission to the ACARS
MU. If the state is 'DELETE', the report will be deleted after
transmission to the MU as soon as the space in the report
buffer is needed by another report. The example in the menu
'AIDS PRINT REPORT LINK' describes that the report No. 10 will
be automatically transmitted to the MU in case it was
generated by a logic with a code number which starts with '44.
In addition it will be sent to the MU, if it was generated by
