C. Power-On Reset of the DMU After each Power-On-Reset (POR) due to a power interrupt greater than 200 msec the DMU perform a POR Built-In-Test (BITE). The POR BITE is done after each POR independent of 'On Ground' or 'In Flight' condition. The POR BITE is performed before the DMU application software is started and is complete after 2 seconds.

Function of the POR
Following functions of the POR are automatically executed:
-Power Supply / Battery Test
-Microprocessor Function / Test of Microprocessor Control Circuitry
(e.g. Timer, Watchdog, Interrupt Control)
-System Bus / Interprocessor Communication Test
-External Interface Test
( Wrap-Around Tests)
-E(E)PROM Memory Test
-Local SRAM Memory Test

Procedure of Power-On Reset It is possible to initiate the POR BITE via the MCDU as follows:
-
Push the Line Select Key (LSK) adjacent to '<CFDS' on the MCDU Main Menu
-
Push the LSK adjacent to 'SYSTEM REPORT/TEST' on the CFDS Main Menu
-
Push the LSK adjacent to '<INST' on the System Report/Test Menu
-
Push the LSK adjacent to '<DMU' on the Recorder Menu
-
Push the LSK adjacent to 'TEST>' on the AIDS menu
-
Push the LSK adjacent to '<DMU POWER-UP TEST'.
-The CFDS Test Result Menu shows ''TEST IN PROGRESS xxS' (xx represents the approx. waiting time in seconds)

Results of Power-On Reset
-Positive: If the test is positive the message 'TEST OK' appears.
-Negative: If faults are detected, the CFDS Test Result Menu appears. This menu shows the results of the manually initiated test DMU POWER-UP TEST, LRUs, FIN Number, the related ATA reference and the failure class (1,2 or 3). The ATA reference and failure class is displayed always on a MCDU line adjacent to a line keys. Two fault messages are displayed on a single MCDU page. If more faults exist mutiple pages must be used for the CFDS Test Result Menu.
D. CFDS Menu Function You can set the MCDU to show the failures that occurred during the last flight. The data comes from the CFDS (Ref. 31-32-00). You can also start system tests from the MCDU. To show the AIDS control data on the MCDU or to start a system test:

Push the line select key adjacent to 'CFDS' on MCDU Menu,
