A. Flight Data Interface Management Unit (FDIMU) (Ref. Fig. 004, 005, 006) The FDIMU puts together the functions of the DFDRS and the AIDS. (For details refer to the System-Description of this topic.) The FDIMU is a microprocessor-controlled unit, that is assembled from six different electronic modules. It has two separate microprocessor-units:
-AMP1-1 controls the DFDRS (FDIU-part)
-AMP1-2 controls the ACMS (DMU-part)
(AMP - Acquisition Management Computer) In this Component-Description only the general-part and the DMU-part of the FDIMU are described. For the description of the FDIU-part refer to 31-33-00-001.
B. Hardware Structure of the FDIMU
The FDIMU consists of six major-assemblies as follows:
-AMP1-1 Acquisition-/Management-Processor for DFDRS-function
-AMP1-2 Acquisition-/Management-Processor for AIDS-function
-PCMCIA Daughter-Board
-Power-Supply Module
-Motherboard
-ARINC-Connector-Card with ARINC-600 Standard-Connector. Both Acquisition-/Management-Processor, AMP1-1 and AMP1-2, consists of the same hardware-module named AMP1. AMP1-1 is used in slot-1. AMP1-2 is used in slot-2.
