 G. General AIDS Function The AIDS functionality is divided into the following major functions:
 -AIDS Reports,
 -Smart AIDS Recorder (SAR) Function
 -Digital AIDS Recorder (DAR) Function

 H. AI AIDS Reports The AI AIDS Reports are AIDS monitor functions which have fixed trigger mechanism, fixed data collection and fixed output formatting. These reports perform the basic aircraft monitoring functions which are required. These monitoring functions collect parameters for trend analysis of the engines, the aircraft and the APU. Aircraft data are also collected and automatically output during times of aircraft operational anomalies (e.g. engine over-temperature). If a report is triggered manual by the remote print button, then the report is immediately generated (independent of any other trigger logic).

 The manual or automatically generated reports (stored in the SSMM) can be
 transferred to the printer, the MDDU, the ACARS and the DAR/SAR.
 Certain parameters for customer requirements are reprogrammable through
 the MCDU or by GSE.

 -<13> APU MES/TDLE Report (Ref. 31-37-49)
 -<14> APU Shutdown Report (Ref. 31-37-49)
 -<15> Load Report (Ref. 31-37-51)

 History Buffer There is a 20 s history buffer (pre event buffer) for 400 parameters with an average sampling rate of 4 per second. This buffer is intended to supply data for incorporation into the AIDS reports.

 Temporary Buffer for Manual Reports For reports generated manually through the MCDU for printing or ACARS download a report buffer for one report is provided.

 Report Storage A non-volatile memory for storage of at least 10 reports per different AIDS report type is provided.

 Overall Report Definition The following definitions are basically applicable to each AI AIDS Report:

 (5) Report Trigger Definition For each AI Standard AIDS Report general and specific trigger definition (Trigger Codes) are performed (e.g. exceedance, stability, peak) and are GSE reprogrammable. Within fixed trigger logics only certain constants and limits are reprogrammable (refer to report definition).
 (a) Manual Report Request The DMU provides via the MCDU a report selection menu to enable manual selection of reports for immediate generation and output to one of the following destinations:

 Manual Report Trigger via Remote Print Button A remote print button function is cause a generation of specified print reports as a function of flight phase. The respective report trigger logic and the information about incrementing or not incrementing the appropriate report counter is programmable via GSE.
