 L. Print Button (Ref. Fig. 062)
 (1)
Remote Print Button Function A remote print button function causes generation of specified print reports as a function of flight phase. The 'trigger' is reprogrammable via the MCDU. The definition of which print report, in which flight phase, has to be generated, is defined in the respective report trigger logic.

 (2)
Remote Print Button Installation The Print Button is installed on the pedestal assy on panel 112VU in the cockpit.

 M. Lighting
The MCDU is integrally lit. The illumination can be gradually dimmed by turning the BRT knob on the MCDU.
 N. Monitoring
 (1) Test The CFDS controls the correct functioning of the connected A/C systems. In case of AIDS malfunction a class 2 fault message is shown on the ECAM screen in flight phase 9 (TAXI IN). The class 3 faults are stored in the DMU. The presence of these failures is also shown on the ECAM screen in flight phase 9. The failures can be called up via CFDS on the MCDU screen. For test purposes and reprogramming a line test connector is located on the DMU front side. With a separate test set, the internal functions of the DMU can be checked. With a data loader a new program can be loaded into the DMU.

Table 2 shows the pin assignment of the test connector.
 (2) Monitoring The correct functioning of the AIDS during operation is achieved by the continuous monitoring function in each unit (BITE). The monitor operations are performed under microprocessor control. For the DMU they consist of:
 -
monitoring operation of the microprocessor,

 -
monitoring operation of the gate arrays,

 -
monitoring operation of the memories,

 -
monitoring operation of the I/O interfaces,

 -
monitoring operation of the power supply circuit.

For the DAR (if installed) they consist of:

 -
monitoring of the tape motion,

 -
monitoring of the input data stream,

 -
monitoring of the write head current,

 -
monitoring of the tape low of the cassette,

 -
monitoring operation of the power supply circuit.

 (3) AIDS Main Menu The AIDS main menu provides access to the functions as follows:
 -
Parameter Label Call-Up Menu

 -
Parameter Alpha Call-Up Menu

 -Special Functions / Reprogramming Submenus
-Manual DAR Recording Control (only if a DAR installed)
 -List of Stored SAR Data
 -Manual Request of SAR Recording
 -Systems Data Menus
-PCMCIA R - Airline Functions (option)
 -List of Stored Reports
 -Manual Request of Reports
 -Help Menus.
 (4) Parameter Call-Up Menus The Parameter call-up menus allow direct access to all parameters transmitted on the ARINC 429 DITS buses connected to the FDIMU for online display. Additional the user can define, store, record and delete Parameter Call-up contents. For this purpose there are two menus:
 -
The Parameter Label Call-Up Menu

 -
The Parameter Alpha Call-Up Menu.

 (a) Parameter Label Call-Up Menu (Ref. Fig. 063) After entry of Equipment Code (EQ), System Number (SYS), Label Number (LAB), Source/Destination Identifier (SDI) and Databits (if necessary) the parameter with their values shows online on the display. Furthermore a port list shows the connected ARINC 429 inputs with information about Port Number, System, EQID and SYSID. The system provides also a menu to display Parameter Labels from the DFDRS.
