The POR BITE is completed within 2 seconds and before the AIDS
application software is started.
The POR BITE covers the functions as follows:
-Power Supply / Battery Test
-Microprocessor Function / Test of Microprocessor Control Circuitry
(e.g. Timer, Watchdog, interrupt control)
-System Bus / Interprocessor Communication Test
-External Interface Test (Wrap-Around Tests)
-E(E) PROM Memory Test
-Local SRAM Memory Test

FDIMU Test through the MCDU
-The CFDS provides two test functions for the AIDS:

FDIMU Power-up Test (AIDS part)

FDIMU Battery Test The tests are initiated through the MCDU in the AIDS test menu. The message TEST OK comes into view when the test result is positive. If a failure is detected the AIDS Test Result menu comes on. The AIDS Test Result menu shows:
-LRU(s) name
-FIN number
-associated ATA reference
-
failure class
-
failure message text.

The FDIMU Power-up Test The Power-up test initiates the complete BITE procedure (POR BITE) which will be performed after a power-on of the FDIMU. Additional the test reports the external failures.

The FDIMU Battery Test The battery test checks the condition of the batteries. If both batteries are still sufficient charged the message BATTERIES OK comes into view. If the charge of at least one of the batteries is insufficient or at least one of the batteries is dead, the AIDS Test Result menu comes on.

FDIMU Test through the Test Connector In the repair shop the FDIMU test with a test-set and a Personal Computer is possible through the test connector (refer manufacturer manuals).
