A. General The FDIMU contains Built-In Test Equipments (BITE) in according to ARINC 604 regulations. One is for the DFDRS part and a second is for the AIDS part. The BITE's are able to detect at least 95% of the possible failures in the FDIMU. The detected failures are devided in system internal faults (FDIMU, DAR) and external faults (connected systems). If a failure is detected the BITE stores the failure messages in the FDIMU BITE memory and sends these continuously to the CFDS through the ARINC 429 output bus. The failures can be called up through the CFDS on the MCDU display.
B. Test
(1) POR BITE After each Power-On-Reset (POR) the FDIMU performs a POR Built-In Test (BITE). For a POR the electrical power must be interrupt greater than 200 msec. In case of the FDIMU does not operate in the correct mode you can perform a manual Power-up initialization through open the circuit breaker 5TV for 5 seconds. The POR BITE will be performed
