 CFDS Menu Function You can use the MCDU to show the failures that occurred during the last flight. The data comes from the CFDS (Ref. 31-32-00). You can also start system tests from the MCDU. To show the AIDS control data on the MCDU or to start a system test:

Push the line select key adjacent to 'CFDS' on MCDU Menu

Push the line select key adjacent to 'SYSTEM REPORT/TEST' CFDS Main Menu

Push the line select key adjacent to 'INST' on System Report/Test Menu

Push the line select key adjacent to '<DMU' to access to the AIDS Menu. From the AIDS Menu, you can set:


 -<LAST LEG REPORT
 -<PREVIOUS LEGS REPORTS
 -<LRU IDENT
 -<GND SCANNING
 -<TROUBLE SHOOT DATA
 -<CLASS 3 FAULTS
 -<TEST
 -<GROUND REPORT
 -<SOFTWARE LOAD STATUS.

 <LAST LEG REPORT (Ref. Fig. 076) If you push the '<LAST LEG REPORT' LSK, the screen shows each class 1 and 2 failure detected during the last flight leg with:

 -
The time when the failure occurred

 -
The ATA number of the component


 -
The FIN of the component


 -
The class of the failure.
 The screen shows a maximum of two failures at a time. If there are
 more failures, push the next page key on the MCDU keyboard. If there
 are no failures, the display shows the 'NO FAULT DETECTED' message.
 If you push the LSK adjacent to the failure class the screen shows
 the trouble shooting data for that failure.

 


 (2)
 <PREVIOUS LEGS REPORT (Ref. Fig. 077) If you push the '<PREVIOUS LEGS REPORT' LSK, the display shows each failure, that has not been corrected from previous reports with:

 -
The aircraft tail number

 -
The flight leg

 -
The date of the applicable flight leg

 -
The time the failure occurred

 -
The ATA reference of the failure

 -
The class of the failure

 -
The FIN of the component. The display shows a maximum of two failures at a time. If there are more failures, push the next page key on the MCDU keyboard. If there are no failures, the display shows the message NO FAULT DETECTED. In case of an aircraft tailnumber change (e.g. the FDIMU has been moved to a different aircraft - internal fault messages are not cleared) the fault messages with different tail number are displayed on the next pages. If you push the LSK adjacent to the failure class the display shows the trouble shooting data for the failure.

 <LRU IDENT (Ref. Fig. 078) If you push the '<LRU IDENT' LSK, the display shows the applicable LRU identification with:

The name of the LRU (FDIMU)

 -
The LRU hardware part number

 -
The LRU serial number

 -
The sofware partnumber.

 <GND SCANNING (Ref. Fig. 079) If you push the '<GND SCANNING' LSK, the display shows the GND SCAN IN PROGRESS legend. If there are failures in the system the screen shows:

The time when the failure occurred

 -
The ATA reference of the failure

The class of the failure

The FIN of the component.
 The display shows a maximum of two failures at a time. If there are
 more failures, push the next page key on the MCDU keyboard. If there
 are no failures, the display shows the message NO FAULT DETECTED.
 If you set the <RETURN function key the system deletes all the
 recorded failures.
 If you push the failure class LSK the screen shows the trouble
 shooting data for the failure.
