R (b) Customer Database Loading
R For the customer database loading, a system file 'DATABASE.CNF'
R must be presented on the root directory of the PCMCIA media. No
R loading is performed if the file 'DATABASE.CNF' is not present on
R the media. For successful operation use the same condition as for
R operational software loading.

L. AIDS Data Recording
The DMU is able to record AIDS data on an external DAR (Digital AIDS
Recorder) and/or a SAR (Smart AIDS Recorder) integrated in the DMU. The
storage medium of the DAR is a magnetic tape cartridge or an optical
disk, the SAR uses solid state mass memory (SSMM) for data storage.
Continuous as well as intermittent (only DAR) or event controlled data
recording is possible. Therefore a set of start and stop triggers are
individually user programmable for each recording channel.

R It is also possible to emulate the SAR or DAR function via the PCMCIA
R interface. Therefore a PCMCIA media must be installed. In case of
R installed PCMCIA media the programmed DAR frame are automatically
R recorded on this media. If both media, PCMCIA and DAR, are installed, the
R same frame are sent to both media. Manual START/STOP function via the
R MCDU is available as one media is ready for recording. A disk space ratio
R reserved for DAR frame recording is programmable by the GSE.
R It is possible to provide other disk space ratios for other kind of data
R like SAR/Report data. The disk space management is programmable on the
R GSE. The default adjustment is, whole space of the media for the DAR
R recording.

M. Smart AIDS Recorder The SAR is a part of the DMU. External ARINC-429 or internal parameters from the FDIMU can be stored in compressed form. The memory is a 2.0 MByte Solid State Mass Memory (SSMM).
Three different modes are possible:
Data Recording

Storage of up to four user predefined datasets (each up to64 samples
per second) between a start eben and a stop event.-Extendend Troubleshooting
