(9) Manual Request of SAR Recording (Ref. Fig. 074) The AIDS Manual SAR-Recording menu allows a manual start/stop control of the SAR recording through the MCDU. The manual start/stop control is independent from the GSE programmed automatic trigger conditions. Access:

Set AIDS on the MCDU main menu
-
Set MAN REQST SAR/RECRDNG on the AIDS menu.
Selection:
R - Push the line select key adjacent to the START indication of the
R related SAR channel to initiate SAR recording manually.
R - Push the line select key adjacent to STOP indication of the running
R SAR channel to finish the recording manually.
Display:
Below the menu title line the available SAR channels are listed.
Each listed SAR channel contains:
-Title (or message CHANNEL NOT ASSIGNED),
-SAR channel number and
-Run/Stop status indication.
Adjacent to the left line select keys the START or STOP indication
shows to initiate the related SAR recording function.
Behind the SAR channel numbers the current start/stop indications
(green) show:
-STOPPED : The channel is inactive (neither manually nor automatically triggered).
-RUNNING : The channel is active (neither manually or automatically triggered).

(10) DAR Recording Menu
(Ref. Fig. 075)
The AIDS Manual Request for DAR Recording menu allows a manual
start/stop control of the DAR recording through the MCDU. The menu is
available if a DAR is installed in the aircraft. The manual
start/stop control is independent from the GSE programmed automatic
trigger conditions.
Access:
- Set AIDS on the MCDU main menu
- Set DAR RECRDNG on the AIDS menu.
Selection:
R - Push the line select key adjacent to the MANUAL START indication
R (1L) to initiate DAR recording manually.
R - Push the line select key adjacent to the MANUAL STOP indication
R (1L) to finish the recording manually.
R - Push the line select key adjacent to the DISPLAY indication (1R) to
R get access to the AIDS DAR MONITOR menu.
R - On the DAR monitor menu enter a word number into the scratchpad and
R push the line select key (1L), (2L), (3L), (4L) or (5L) to display
R the appropriate data.
Display:
Below the title line the current start/stop status indication (green)
shows:
- STOPPED : The channel is inactive (neither manually nor
automatically triggered).
- RUNNING : The channel is active (neither manually or automatically
triggered).
Adjacent to the left line select key (1L) the MANUAL START or MANUAL
STOP indication shows to initiate the DAR recording function.
In addition the data of history time, recorder speed and data
encoding show.
P. MCDU AIDS Access Levels
All FDIMU functions, which can be manually activated by the user via the
MCDU are protected by a user access control mechanism based on passwords.
Security users identify themselves to the FDIMU by entering a password in
the SPECIAL FUNCT/REPROGRAMMING menu. No password entry is necessary to
