(1) For the left pitot probe,
Open this circuit breaker and install safety tag:

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE PITOT PROBE [8] HEAT IS OFF. INJURY TO PERSONS CAN
OCCUR.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE AREA AROUND THE PITOT PROBE [8] IS CLEAR OF
UNWANTED MATERIAL. CONTAMINATION OF THE PITOT SYSTEM CAN OCCUR.
(3) Use the sealant removal tool, COM-2481 to remove the sealant from around the baseplate [5] of
the pitot probe [8].

(4) Remove the bolts [9] from the baseplate [5] of the pitot probe [8].

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PITOT PROBE HAS NO WEIGHT ON IT. THE PITOT PROBE [8]
CAN BEND OR TWIST OUT OF TOLERANCE.
(5) Do these steps to loosen the pitot probe [8] from the airplane skin:
(a) Hold the probe strut [7].
(b) Loosen the gasket [2].
(c) Pull the pitot probe [8] out from the airplane skin until you can get access to the pitot hose
fitting [10] and electrical connector [1] on the base of the pitot probe [8].

CAUTION: USE WRENCHES TO APPLY COUNTER PRESSURE ON EACH SIDE OF THE FITTING
DURING DISASSEMBLY. DAMAGE TO THE TUBE OR FITTING CAN OCCUR.
(6) Disconnect the pitot hose fitting [10] at the base of the pitot probe [8].

(7) Remove the long screw [6] from the pitot probe side of the electrical connector [1].

(8) Disconnect the electrical connector [1].

(9) Remove the pitot probe [8].

(10) Install the long screw [6] in the electrical connector [1].

(11) Temporarily attach the electrical connector [1] and pitot hose fitting [10] to the airplane structure
with tape so they do not fall inside vertical fin.

(12) Put a cap on the pitot hose fitting [10] to keep out unwanted material.

(13) Remove the elbow [11] from the pitot probe assembly [8].
(a) Remove the lockwire [12] and discard.

(14) Remove the bolts [3], washers [4], and pitot probe [8] from the baseplate [5].

(15) Keep the baseplate [5] for another installation.
