ELEVATOR FEEL AND CENTERING UNIT - INSPECTION/CHECK
1. General
A. This procedure contains this task:
(1) Elevator Feel and Centering Unit Inspection
(a) This task supplies the data for a dimensional inspection of the elevator feel and centering
unit.
(b) This task does not remove or install the elevator feel and centering unit, refer to the
Elevator Feel and Centering Unit - Removal/Installation for procedures to remove and
install the elevator feel and centering unit.

A. General
(1) This procedure gives wear limits and repair data for the elevator feel and centering unit.

SUBTASK 27-31-64-020-005
(1) Use these tools to check for wear on the parts of the elevator feel and centering unit connections:
(a) micrometer (0-1 Inch, readable to 1/1000 Inch), STD-1096
(b) readable to 1/1000 inch vernier 0 - 6 inch caliper, STD-1097.

(2) Examine the parts of the elevator feel and centering unit connections for worn areas:
(a) Remove the parts to be checked.
(b) Measure the parts, as necessary, with a micrometer (0-1 Inch, readable to 1/1000 Inch),
STD-1096 or a readable to 1/1000 inch vernier 0 - 6 inch caliper, STD-1097.
(c) Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted wear dimensions that follow.
(d) If the parts are not in the tolerance, replace or repair the part, as required.
