(1) Use this test to make sure the horizontal stabilizer moves to the correct position when it is
operated from the stabilizer trim wheel. It also make sure that the stabilizer trim indicator
operates correctly.

G. Procedure
SUBTASK 27-41-00-710-002
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE
HORIZONTAL STABILIZERS. THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER WILL MOVE WHEN YOU
TURN THE CONTROL TRIM WHEELS (OR PUSH THE STAB TRIM SWITCHES). THIS
CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do the test of the stabilizer manual trim and trim indicator test:
(a) Turn the control trim wheel counterclockwise (full APL NOSE DOWN) until it touches the
stops.
1) Use the bar, SPL-1677 to make sure the "B" dimension is 45.84 ±0.10 in.
(1164.3 ±2.6 mm).
2) Make sure that the two STAB TRIM indicators on the control stand show -0.2 ±0.5 units
of trim.
3) Make sure that the difference between the two STAB TRIM indicators is less than 0.5
units of trim.
(b) Turn the control trim wheel clockwise (full APL NOSE UP) until it touches the stops.
1) Make sure that the horizontal stabilizer moves down freely through the full travel.
2) Use the bar, SPL-1677 to make sure the "B" dimension is 21.32 ±0.10 in.
(541.5 ±2.6 mm).
3) Make sure that the two STAB TRIM indicators on the control stand show 16.9 ±0.5 unit
of trim.
4) Make sure that the difference between the two STAB TRIM indicators is less than 0.5
units of trim.
