ELEVATOR POWER CONTROL UNIT - INSPECTION/CHECK
1. General
A. This procedure has these inspection tasks:
(1) Elevator Power Control Unit (PCU) Visual Inspection
(2) Elevator PCU Inspection.
(a) This task supplies the data for a dimensional inspection of the elevator PCU.
(b) This task does not remove or install the elevator PCU, refer to the Elevator Power Control
Unit - Removal/Installation procedures to remove and install the elevator PCU.

3. Elevator Power Control Unit - Inspection

(1) This procedure gives wear limits and repair data for the elevator power control unit (PCU).

SUBTASK 27-31-14-020-005
(1) Remove the elevator power control unit (PCU). To remove it, do this task: Elevator Power
Control Unit - Removal, TASK 27-31-14-000-801.
SUBTASK 27-31-14-020-006
(2) Use these tools to check for wear on the parts of the elevator PCU connections:
(a) micrometer (0-1 Inch, readable to 1/1000 Inch), STD-1096
(b) readable to 1/1000 inch vernier 0 - 6 inch caliper, STD-1097.
SUBTASK 27-31-14-020-007
(3) Examine the parts of the elevator PCU connections for worn areas:
(a) Remove the parts to be checked.
(b) Measure the parts as necessary with a micrometer (0-1 Inch, readable to 1/1000 Inch),
STD-1096 or a readable to 1/1000 inch vernier 0 - 6 inch caliper, STD-1097.
(c) Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted wear dimensions that follow.
(d) If the parts are not in the tolerance, replace or repair the part as required.
