(a) Set the beam, SPL-1730 on the stabilizer lower surface.
(b) Set the elevator trailing edge to the index mark on the beam, SPL-1730.
(c) Remove the beam, SPL-1730.
H. Elevator Index Plate Installation
(Figure 401)

(1) Install the elevator index plate [1]:
(a) Align the center mark of elevator index plate [1] with the elevator trailing edge.
(b) Drill two 0.190 +0.004/-0.000 inch (4.82 +0.10/-0.00 millimeters) diameter holes through the
tail cone and the elevator index plate [1].
(c) Install the bolts [2], washers [3], and nuts [4] to attach the elevator index plate [1] to the tail
cone.
(d) Install the lockwire, G01912.

(2) Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tags from the control columns.

(3) Make sure the elevator trailing edge aligns with the center mark of the elevator index plate.
