(b) Install bolt assembly [24], washer [23], and nut [22] to attach the aft connection of the
Elevator Feel Actuator [3] to the elevator feel and centering unit [1].
1) Tighten the nut [22] to 85-100 pound-inches (9.6-11.3 newton-meters).

CAUTION: DO NOT TIGHTEN THE NUT [22] AGAIN AFTER YOU TIGHTEN THE NUT [20]. YOU
CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(c) Install the washer [21] and nut [20].
1) Tighten the nut [20] to 30-35 pound-inches (3.4-3.9 newton-meters).
(d) Install bolt assembly [4], spacer [5], anti-rotation fitting [6], washer [7], and nut [8] to attach
the forward connection of the Elevator Feel Actuator [3] to the elevator feel and centering
unit [1].
1) Tighten the nut [8] to 85-100 pound-inches (9.6-11.3 newton-meters).
CAUTION: DO NOT TIGHTEN THE NUT [8] AGAIN AFTER YOU TIGHTEN THE NUT [10]. YOU
CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(e) Install the washer [9] and nut [10].
1) Tighten the nut [10] to 30-35 pound-inches (3.4-3.9 newton-meters).
(f) Install the slide block [16], bushing [19], washer [18], and nut [17] to anti-rotation fitting [6].
1) Tighten the nut to 100-125 pound-inches (11.3-14.1 newton-meters).

(3) Connect the hydraulic lines [2] to the Elevator Feel Actuator [3].
(a) Remove the caps and plugs from the open ports and hydraulic lines.
(b) Connect the hydraulic lines [2].

(4) Remove the rig pin E-5 of the rig pin kit, SPL-1585 from the elevator aft control quadrant.

(5) Do this task: Put the Elevator Systems A and B Back to the Condition Before the Pressure
Removal, TASK 27-31-00-840-802.

(6) Bleed the elevator control system:
(a) Move the control column in a longitudinal direction until the movement is smooth and the
feel force is normal.
(b) Make sure the feel forces increase when the air is bled out.

ELEVATOR INPUT TORQUE TUBE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of the elevator input torque tube
(2) An installation of the elevator input torque tube.
B. The elevator input torque tube is referred to as the "torque tube" in this procedure.
C. The torque tube includes four quadrants and six input cranks.
