(1) Make sure that the pressure to the elevator hydraulic systems A and B is removed. To remove it,
do this task: Remove Pressure from the Elevator Hydraulic Systems A and B,
TASK 27-31-00-800-802.
E. Elevator Feel Shift Module Installation
SUBTASK 27-31-20-420-001
(1) Install the elevator feel shift module [1]:
(a) Install the washers [3] and bolts [2] to attach the elevator feel shift module (EFSM) [1] to the
bracket.
1) Make sure that the electrical resistance between the EFSM and the bracket, that it is
attached to, is 0.005 ohms, or less.
2) Make sure that the electrical resistance between the EFSM and the airplane structure
is 0.005 ohms, or less.
a) If the electrical resistance at the two locations is more than 0.005 ohms, then
remove the EFSM and prepare the electrical faying surfaces.
(b) Apply a fillet seal of BMS 5-95 along the joint edges. To apply the sealant, do this task: Fillet
Seal Application, TASK 51-31-00-390-804.

(2) Connect electrical connector [4] to the elevator feel shift module [1].

(3) Remove the caps and plugs from the open ports and hydraulic lines [4].

(4) Connect the hydraulic lines [4] to the elevator feel shift module [1].
NOTE: Apply a layer of hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic fittings before you install the hydraulic
lines.

F. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1) Put the SYSTEM A FLIGHT CONTROL SHUTOFF and the SYSTEM B FLIGHT CONTROL
SHUTOFF switches on the P5 flight control panel, forward overhead panel to the ON position.

(2) Put the STAB TRIM cutout switches on the pilots control stand panel to the NORM position.
