(e) Disconnect the tab pushrod [29] from the elevator tab control mechanism [32].
(f) Remove the tab pushrod [29] from the airplane.

E. Tab Pushrod Installation
SUBTASK 27-31-34-860-006
(1) Make sure hydraulic power is removed from the elevator hydraulic systems A and B. To remove
it, do this task: Remove Pressure from the Elevator Hydraulic Systems A and B,
TASK 27-31-00-800-802.

(2) Install the tab pushrods [29]:
(a) Put the tab pushrods [29] in its position.
NOTE: If you loosened or removed the nuts [47] or nuts [25], they need to be replaced
with new nuts. Using new nuts will ensure that they have the required run-on
torque.

(b) Install the bolts [41], washers [46], and new nuts [47] to connect the tab pushrods [29] to the
elevator tab control mechanism [32].
NOTE: The inboard bolt is installed with the head inboard and the outboard bolt is
installed with the head outboard.

(c) Install the spacers [53], bolts [41], washers [46], and new nuts [47] to connect the tab
pushrods [29] to the elevator tab control mechanism [32].
NOTE: The inboard bolt is installed with the head inboard and the outboard bolt is
installed with the head outboard.

CAUTION: IF THE NEW NUTS [47] ARE NOT TIGHTENED CORRECTLY, THEN THE PUSHRODS
CAN BECOME DISCONNECTED AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELEVATOR AND
STABILIZER.
(d) Tighten the new nuts [47] to 50 - 80 pound-inches (5.7 - 9.0 newton-meters).
