(10) If necessary, use the stabilizer trim wheel on the control stand to set the horizontal stabilizer at
zero degrees (4 units of trim).

(11) Install the lock, SPL-1672 on the stabilizer trim wheel at the control stand (Figure 402):
(a) Turn the trim wheel to put the handle at the top of the wheel.
(b) Adjust the height of the trim lock to put the trim wheel handle correctly on the yoke.
(c) Install the pin through the yoke.
(d) Install the safety pin.

SUBTASK 27-41-11-480-002
(1) Install the sling, SPL-2035 (Figure 404):
(a) Remove the bolts [1] and bolts [2] from the stabilizer top surface.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU INSTALL THE HOISTING SLING CORRECTLY WHEN YOU
REMOVE THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER WITH OR WITHOUT THE ELEVATOR
INSTALLED. IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE HOISTING SLING CORRECTLY FOR
THE REMOVAL OF THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE
TO EQUIPMENT.
(b) Attach the sling, SPL-2035 to the horizontal stabilizer with fasteners.
(c) Attach a hoist to the sling, SPL-2035.
CAUTION: YOU MUST CAREFULLY LIFT THE HOISTING SLING. A SUDDEN MOVEMENT OF
THE HOISTING SLING CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER.
(d) Apply sufficient tension to the sling to lift the weight of the horizontal stabilizer.

CAUTION: RELEASE THE CONNECTION SLOWLY AND LET THE PRESSURE DECREASE BEFORE
YOU COMPLETELY REMOVE THE HYDRAULIC LINES. IF YOU DISCONNECT A
HYDRAULIC LINE WHEN IT HAS PRESSURE, A SPRAY OF THE HYDRAULIC FLUID
CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
(2) Disconnect the hydraulic line [25] of the elevator tab installed aft of the stabilizer rear spar.
