ELEVATOR INDEX PLATE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. This procedure has these tasks:
(1) A removal of an elevator index plate
(2) An installation of an elevator index plate.
B. This procedure is applicable for the left and right elevator index plates.
C. You must do this procedure when the tail cone is removed and a new or different tail cone is
installed.

2. Elevator Index Plate Removal
(Figure 401)
A. General
(1) This procedure is for the removal of the elevator index plate from a removed tail cone.

SUBTASK 27-31-81-020-001
(1) Remove the elevator index plate [1]:
(a) Remove the lockwire.
(b) Remove the nuts [4], washers [3], and bolts [2] from the elevator index plate [1].
(c) Remove the elevator index plate [1] from the tail cone.
