(6) Install the lock, SPL-1672 on the stabilizer trim wheel at the control stand (Figure 402):
(a) Turn the stabilizer trim wheel to put the handle at the top of the wheel.
(b) Adjust the height of the lock, SPL-1672 until the yoke is under the handle.
(c) Install the pin through the yoke.
(d) Install the safety pin.

(7) Install the rig pin E-5 from the rig pin kit, SPL-1585 in the aft control quadrant, (Figure 401).

F. Neutral Shift Mechanism Removal
(Figure 401)
SUBTASK 27-31-91-020-001
(1) Remove the neutral shift mechanism [1]:
(a) Remove the nut [8], washer [9], nut [10], washers [7], and bolt [6] to disconnect the neutral
shift mechanism [1] from the mach trim actuator.
(b) Remove the nuts [28], washers [26], washers [24], and bolts [25] to disconnect control rods
[23] and control rods [27] from the neutral shift mechanism [1].
(c) Remove the nuts [4], washers [3], and bolts [2] that attach the neutral shift mechanism [1] to
the support brackets.
(d) Remove the nuts [13], washers [12], and bolts [11] that attach the neutral shift mechanism
[1] to the support brackets.
(e) Remove the neutral shift mechanism [1] and spacers [17] from the airplane.
NOTE: Note the quantity, orientation, and location of the spacers [17] before you remove
them from the neutral shift mechanism [1].
