(9) Install the rig pin E-5 from rig pin kit, SPL-1585 in the elevator aft quadrant (Figure 402).

(10) If the sling, SPL-2034 is used to support the elevator assembly while the elevator control
pushrod is removed, do the following (Figure 403):
(a) Find the bolts [3] on the elevator installation [1] to attach the sling, SPL-2034.
NOTE: The bolts [3] are on the upper panel next to elevator hinge 3 and hinge 5
(Figure 406).
(b) Remove the bolts [3] from the elevator installation [1].
(c) Install the forward sling fittings on the elevator installation [1].
1) Install the fasteners to attach each sling fitting to the elevator installation [1].
(d) Install the aft sling fitting on the elevator installation [1].

(e) Attach the straps from the forward sling fittings to the aft sling fitting.
(f) Attach the sling, SPL-2034 to the forward sling fittings and aft sling fitting.
(g) Connect an overhead crane to the primary support sling on the sling, SPL-2034.
(h) Connect a tether line to the aft sling fitting.
