(6) Use the bar, SPL-1677 to set the "B" dimension to 39.89 +/-0.01 inches (1013.2 +/- 0.3 mm)

(7) Push the elevator trailing edge full up by hand.

(8) Then, while you move the elevator down from the trailing edge up position, align the elevator
with the index mark in +/- 0.04 inches (+/- 1.0 mm), or less (Figure 505).
NOTE: Keep the elevators at this position while you adjust the tab pushrods. If the elevator
position is changed, you must put the elevator trailing edge at full up position and do
this step again before you continue.

(a) Install the fixture, SPL-1686 below the elevator and elevator tab at the inboard side of the
second elevator tab hinge.

(b) Install the fixture, SPL-1686 below the elevator and elevator tab at the inboard side of the
third elevator tab hinge.

(c) Make sure the cross bar on the fixture, SPL-1686 touches the lower surface of the elevator
trailing edge.
