Put the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER TAIL 1, 2, and 3 switches in the SHUTOFF position. You can find these switches on the Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel (P461).

Put the STAB TRIM 1, and 2 switches in the CUTOUT position. Attach DO-NOT-OPERATE tags to the STAB TRIM 1 and 2 switches. You can find these switches on the Pilots' Control Stand.

(8) Visually examine these parts for bends, cracks, corrosion, or worn areas:
(a)
EAS output crank.
(b)
Control rod.
(c)
Bearings on the control rod.
(d)
Bolts and nuts which attach the control rod.
(e)
If the condition of the control rod is not satisfactory, refer to AMM 22-12-01/401 to replace the control rod.
