747-400 MAINTENANCE MANUAL
 CENTRAL LATERAL CONTROL PACKAGE ELECTROHYDRAULIC SERVOVALVE
___________________________________________________________ AND SOLENOID VALVE - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains three tasks. The first is for the removal of the electrohydraulic servo valve (EHSV) and the solenoid valves from the Central Lateral Control Package (CLCP). The second is for the installation of the EHSV and solenoid valves on the CLCP. The third is to do a test of the CLCP.
 B.  You can find the CLCPs on the forward bulkhead of the left and right wing landing gear well. Each CLCP has one EHSV and two solenoid valves.
 C.  The removal/installation procedure is the same for the EHSV and the solenoid valves.

 C.  Prepare for the Removal

 (1)  
Supply the electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Remove the hydraulic pressure from the applicable hydraulic system (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Put the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER WING 1, 2, 3, and switches in the SHUTOFF position. The switches are on the Pilot's Overhead Maintenance Panel, P461.

Open these circuit breakers and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7D7, FLT CONT CMPTR L SERVO
 2) 7D8, FLT CONT CMPTR L PWR
 3) 7D14, FLT CONT CMPTR R SERVO
 4) 7D15, FLT CONT CMPTR R PWR

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO INSTALL
_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (5)  
Do this task: "Install the Door Locks on the Wing and Body Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).

Make sure the landing gear ground locks are installed
 (AMM 09-11-00/201).

 

 D. Procedure
 S 162-053
 CAUTION: DO NOT LET CONTAMINATION GET INTO THE CLCP, EHSV, OR SOLENOID
_______ VALVES. THE CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE AND FAILURE TO THE EHSV, SOLENOID VALVE AND CLCP.
 (1)  
Clean the surface of the EHSV and the solenoid valves with a clean rag.

 (2)  
Remove the lockwire from the screws that hold the valve in position.

 (3)
Do the steps that follow to remove the EHSV and the solenoid valve.

 (a)  
Remove the screws and washers while you hold the valve.

 (b)  
Remove the valve from the CLCP.

 (c)  
A gasket plate is installed between the valve and the CLCP. Make sure you remove the gasket plate when you remove the valve.

 (d)  
Remove the O-ring from the valve (AMM 20-11-19/401).
