Set the No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 switches of the FLT CONTROL SHUTOFF TAIL VALVE to the SHUTOFF position. The switches are on the Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel, P461.

Set the No. 1 and 2 switches of the STAB TRIM hydraulic to the CUTOUT position and attach the DO-NOT-OPERATE tags. The switches are on the Pilots' Control Stand.

(6) Open the 315A access door in the tail cone to get access to the EASs (Ref 06-09-05/201).
D. Remove the EAS Filter

CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE CONTAMINATION GET INTO THE EAS AND THE FILTER.
_______ THE EAS AND THE FILTER ARE SENSITIVE DEVICES. THE CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE AND FAILURE TO THE EAS AND THE FILTER.
(1) Fully clean the area around the hydraulic pressure port (the nearest port to the crank arm) on the EAS.

Disconnect the hydraulic pressure port.

Do the steps that follow to remove the filter:
(a)
Remove the reducer (2) and the O-ring (3) (Ref 20-11-19/401) from the EAS (1). Discard the O-ring.
(b)
Remove the filter element (4) from the EAS (1).
(c)
Install the reducer (2) back to the EAS pressure port, tighten the reducer by hand.

(4) Install the covers on the EAS opening and the hydraulic line to prevent from the contamination.
