B. You can use one of the Control Display Units (CDU) to start the CMCS tests. The printer (optional) permits you to make a copy of the results of the CMCS tests. This printer is on the aft electronics control panel (P8).
C. When you do the operational test, ground tests or the system test, make sure that these systems are serviceable:

2. Operational Test - Autopilot/Flight Director System

A. General
(1)
The operational test uses no external equipment. It is for a fast check of the autopilot/flight director system. The airplane electrical system and the hydraulic system are the only power sources necessary for this task.
