 CAUTION: DO NOT TIGHTEN THE LARGE NUT AGAIN AFTER YOU TIGHTEN
_______ THE SMALL NUT. DAMAGE TO THE BONDED-BOLT ASSEMBLY CAN OCCUR.
 (a)  Tighten the large nut to 60-80 pound-inches and the small nut to 30-40 pound-inches.

Remove the covers from the hydraulic lines and hydraulic ports on the RPCP.

Connect the hydraulic lines.

Attach the bonding jumper to the RPCP.


 NOTE: One end of the bonding jumper is attached to the structure.

Use the bonding meter to make sure that the resistance between the structure and RPCP is less than 3.0 millivolts (0.003 ohm).

Apply the BMS 5-95 sealant around the perimeter of the connection between the RPCP and the mating surfaces and to the bolt heads.

Remove the cover from the electrical connector.

 (1)  Remove and keep the bonded-bolt assembly which attaches the RPCP control rod to the override mechanism cam.

Remove and keep the bonded-bolt assembly which attaches the clevis to the output crank of the override mechanism.

Remove the bonded-bolt assembly from the mechanism mounting bracket.

Remove the override mechanism assembly.

Install the bonded-bolt assembly back on the override mechanism.

Install four AN960JD616 washers for the large nut and one AN960FD416 washer for the small nut.


 (a)  Tighten the nuts by hand to keep the override mechanism together when you send it to the shop.
