CAUTION:_______DO NOT LET CONTAMINATION GET INTO THE LAS AND FILTERS. THE LAS AND FILTERS ARE SENSITIVE DEVICES. THE CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE AND FAILURE TO THE LAS AND FILTERS.

Fully clean the area around the filter mounting surfaces with a clean rag.

Lightly lubricate the two backup rings (3) and the new O-ring (4) with the MCS352 lubricant.

Install the two backup rings (3) and the new O-ring (4) on the filter cover (2)(AMM 20-11-19/401).

Lightly lubricate the two backup rings (6) and the new O-ring (7) with the MCS352 lubricant.

Install the two backup rings (6) and the new O-ring (7) on the filter element (5).

Remove the cover from the hydraulic opening on the LAS (1).

Install the filter element (5) in the LAS (1).

Install the filter cover (2) into the LAS (1) body. Tighten the filter cover from 85 to 115 pound-inches.

Do these steps for the component leak check:
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL
_______ CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY THE HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a)
Supply hydraulic power to hydraulic system No. 1 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(b)
Set the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER WING 1, 2, 3, and 4 switches to the SHUTOFF position.
(c)
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
1) P180, DC Power Distribution Panel a) 180E6, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 2 b) 180E6, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 2 c) 180H7, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 1 d) 180H7, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 1 e) 180H22, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 3
(d)
Visually examine the filter and make sure that there are no hydraulic leaks.
G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Initial Condition

(1) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a) P180, DC Power Distribution Panel
1) 180E6, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 2
2) 180E21, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 4
3) 180H7, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 1
4) 180H22, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 3
