(1) Do this check on the elevator minimum authority for the L-channel:
(a)
Push the LSK adjacent to <ELV SURFACE LIMIT from the GROUND TESTS MENU page on the CDU.
(b)
Continue with the instructions on the CDU until it shows:
ENGAGE AUTOPILOT L C R TO CMD POSITION

(f) (g) (h) Push the LSK adjacent to <CONTINUE on the CDU until the POSITIVE and NEGATIVE LIMIT page is shown.Push the LSK adjacent to <POSITIVE LIMIT for the positive surface limit position.Write down the value for the elevator surface position:

(i) (j) (k) (l) (m) Make sure that the value for the left channel is +8.0 degrees (minimum).Make sure that the control columns stay at the positive limit and AUTOPILOT DISC does not show on the main EICAS display.Push the LSK adjacent to <CONTINUE on the CDU to go back to the POSITIVE LIMIT and NEGATIVE LIMIT page.Push the LSK adjacent to <NEGATIVE LIMIT for the negative surface limit position.Write down the value for the elevator surface position:

ENGAGE FAIL
LEFT
ENGAGE FAIL
CENTER
(f) Do step 1 (g) through 1 (r) again for the R-Channel.
