LATERAL AUTOPILOT SERVO - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks. The first is the removal of the Lateral Autopilot Servo (LAS) from the forward bulkhead of the left wing gear well. The second is for the installation of the LAS. The installation task includes the necessary test steps to make sure the LAS operates correctly.
B. Three mounting bolts attach the LAS (B7085) to the structure. The crank arm of the LAS attaches to a control arm. There are two hydraulic lines and one electrical plug that are also attached to the LAS.

2. Lateral Autopilot Servo Removal (Fig. 401 and 402)_______________________________
A. Special Tools and Equipment
(1)
G12001-XX rigging pin #2 (A/S-2). The pin should be 0.309 to 0.311 inch diameter (0.303 to 0.308 is optional), with a minimum length of
5.5 inches.

G12001-XX rigging pin #3 (A/S-3). The pin should be 0.309 to 0.311 inch diameter (0.303 to 0.308 is optional), with a minimum length of
2.0 inches.

_______ THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Do this task: "Body Landing Gear Door Lock Installation" (Ref 32-00-30/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Remove the hydraulic pressure from hydraulic systems 1, 2, 3, and 4 (Ref 29-11-00/201)
