Push the A/P ENGAGE C CMD button on the MCP.

Push the LSK adjacent to <ADVANCE.

 (e)  
Make sure the CDU shows:


 ENGAGE FAIL
 LEFT

 ENGAGE FAIL
 RIGHT

 (f) Do step 1 (g) through 1 (r) again for the C-channel.
 U. Elevator Positive Max Authority Test
 S 865-315
 (1)  
Use the stab trim switches on the control wheel to set the
 stabilizer to 7 (|0.1) units.


 S 865-419

 (2)  
Supply pressure to the auxiliary pitot system to between 244 and 266 knots IAS (Ref 34-11-00/201).

 S 745-317

 (3)  
Push the LSK adjacent to <ELV SURFACE LIMIT from the GROUND TESTS MENU page on the CDU.


 (a)  Continue with the instructions shown on the CDU until this message shows:
 ENGAGE AUTOPILOT L C R
 TO CMD POSITION

 NOTE: Do not set the stabilizer trim to 6 units when this
____ instruction shows on the CDU. Push <CONTINUE to continue.
 (b)  Push the left autopilot CMD button on the MCP.

Push <ADVANCE.

 (d)  
Make sure that these messages show:

 ENGAGE FAIL RIGHT
 ENGAGE FAIL CENTER


 (e)  
Continue with the instructions shown on the CDU until the POSITIVE LIMIT and NEGATIVE LIMIT page is shown.

 (f)  
Push the LSK adjacent <POSITIVE LIMIT.

 (g)  
Write down the value for the elevator surface position: ______ DEG.

 (h)  
Make sure that the value for the left channel is +9.8 degress maximum.

 (i)  
Make sure that the control column stays at the positive limit and the AUTOPILOT DISC does not show on the main EICAS display.

 (j)  
Push the LSK adjacent to <CONTINUE to go back to the POSITIVE LIMIT and NEGATIVE LIMIT page.

 (k)  
Push the LSK adjacent to <ADVANCE to complete the test.


 NOTE: An autopilot disconnect warning will occur at the end
____
 of this test which is permitted.

 (l)  Push the autopilot disconnect switch (captain's or first officer's) two times.

 (4)  Do steps (3) thru (3)(l) again for the right channel.
 NOTE:____Engage fail messages for the right channel are: ENGAGE FAIL LEFT and ENGAGE FAIL CENTER.
 NOTE: The value for the right channel is +9.8 degrees maximum

 (5)  Do steps (3) thru (3)(l) again for the cemter channel.

 V. Elevator Negative Max Authority Test

 (1)  
Use the stab trim switches on the control wheel to set the
 stabilizer to 2.68 (|0.1) units.

 (2)  
Supply pressure to the auxiliary pitot system to between 244 and 266 knots IAS (Ref 34-11-00/201).
