Remove the lockwire from the mounting screws (5) (Ref 20-11-28/401).

Do the steps that follow to remove the EAS valve:
(a)
Hold the valve (2 or 3) and remove the mounting screws (5) and washers (6).
(b)
Remove the valve (2 or 3) from the EAS.
(c)
Remove the gasket plate (4) from the EAS (1).
(d)
Remove the O-ring (7) from the valve (2 or 3)
(Ref 20-11-19/401).

(10) Install the covers on the EAS (1) openings to prevent the hydraulic ports from the contamination.

(1) Supply the electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU MOVE PERSONS AND BLOCKAGES AWAY FROM THE
_______ CONTROL SURFACES. THE CONTROL SURFACES CAN MOVE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU APPLY THE HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Make sure that you remove the hydraulic pressure from the applicable hydraulic system (Ref 29-11-00/201).
NOTE: The hydraulic system No. 1 supplies the power to the center
____ EAS. The hydraulic system No. 2 supplies the power to the right EAS. The hydraulic system No. 3 supplies the power to the left EAS.

(3) Make sure that the No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 switches of the FLT CONTROL SHUTOFF TAIL VALVE are in the SHUTOFF position. The switches are on the Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel, P461.

(4) Make sure that the No. 1 and 2 switches of the STAB TRIM hydraulic are in the CUTOUT position and the DO-NOT-OPERATE tags are attached. The switches are on the Pilots' Control Stand.
