 (1)  Make sure that you remove the hydraulic pressure from the applicable hydraulic system (Ref 29-11-00/201).
 NOTE: The hydraulic system No. 1 supplies the power to the
____ center EAS. The hydraulic system No. 2 supplies the power to the right EAS. The hydraulic system No. 3 supplies the power to the left EAS.

 (2)  
Make sure that the No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 switches of the FLT CONTROL SHUTOFF TAIL VALVE are in the SHUTOFF position. The switches are on the Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel, P461.

Make sure that the No.1 and 2 switches of the STAB TRIM hydraulic are in the CUTOUT position and the DO-NOT-OPERATE tags are attached. The switches are on the Pilots' Control Stand.

Make sure that these circuit breakers are open and the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags are attached:

 (a)  P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7D7, FLT CONT CMPTR L SERVO
 2) 7D8, FLT CONT CMPTR L PWR
 3) 7D12, FLT CONT CMPTR C SERVO
 4) 7D13, FLT CONT CMPTR C PWR
 5) 7D14, FLT CONT CMPTR R SERVO
 6) 7D15, FLT CONT CMPTR R PWR
 7) 7E7, STAB TRIM L S/O VALVE

 (5)  Open the 315A access door in the tail cone to get access to the EASs (Ref 06-09-05/201).
 F. Install the EAS Filter

 CAUTION: DO NOT LET THE CONTAMINATION GET INTO THE EAS AND THE FILTER.
_______ THE EAS AND THE FILTER ARE SENSITIVE DEVICES. THE CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE AND FAILURE TO THE EAS AND THE FILTER.
 (1)  
Fully clean the area around the hydraulic pressure port (the nearest port to the crank arm) on the EAS.

Remove the covers from the EAS (1) and the hydraulic pressure port.

 (3)  
Do the steps that follow to install the filter:

 (a)  
Install the filter element (4) in the EAS (1).

 (b)  
Install the O-ring (3) (Ref 20-11-19/401) on the reducer (2) with the MCS352 lubricant.

 (c)  
Install and tighten the reducer (2) in the EAS (1) pressure port.

 

 (4)  
Connect the hydraulic pressure port to the EAS (1).

 G. Operational Test

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU MOVE PERSONS AND BLOCKAGES AWAY FROM THE
_______ CONTROL SURFACES. THE CONTROL SURFACES CAN MOVE SUDDENLY WHEN YOU REMOVE THE HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  
Supply hydraulic pressure to the hydraulic systems 1, 2, and 3 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

 (2)  
Set the No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 switches of the FLT CONTROL SHUTOFF TAIL VALVE to the NORM position. The switches are on the Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel, P461.
