1. General_______
A. This procedure contains three tasks. The first task is for the removal of the electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) or the solenoid valve from the rudder power control module (RPCM). The second task is for the installation of the EHSV or the solenoid valve on the RPCM. The third task is for the check of the installed EHSV or solenoid valve.
B. There are two RPCMs. Each RPCM has one EHSV and one solenoid valve. The procedure is the same for the EHSV and the solenoid valve.
C. You can find the upper RPCM and the lower RPCM between the rear spar and the trailing edge of the vertical stabilizer. You can get access to the upper RPCM through the 324UL/324UR access panel. You can get access to the lower RPCM through the 324DL/324DR access panel

(3) Remove the hydraulic pressure from the hydraulic systems No. 2 and No. 3 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

(4) Set the STAB TRIM 2 and 3 switches on the Pilots' Control Stand to the CUTOUT position.

(5) Set the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER TAIL 1, 2, 3, and 4 switches to the SHUTOFF position. These switches are on the Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel (P461).
