 (9)  Do the steps that follow to install the EAS valve:
 (a)  
Lightly lubricate the new gasket plate (4) and the O-ring (7) with the MCS352 lubricant.

 (b)  
Lightly lubricate the mounting screws with the G-23827 grease.

 (c)  
Install the new O-ring (7) on the valve (2 or 3) (Ref 20-11-19/401).

 (d)  
Put the gasket plate (4) on the EAS (1).

 (e)  
Install the valve (2 or 3) on the EAS (1) with the washers (6) and the mounting screws (5). Torque the mounting screws (5) to 50-70 pound-inches.

 Use the bonding meter to measure the resistance between the valve (2 or 3) and the EAS (1). Make sure that the resistance is 5.0 milliohms (0.005 ohms) or less (Ref 20-22-01/601).

 WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THAT YOU MOVE PERSONS AND BLOCKAGES AWAY FROM THE
 CONTROL SURFACES.  THE CONTROL SURFACES CAN MOVE SUDDENLY WHEN
 YOU REMOVE THE HYDRAULIC POWER.  THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO

 PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (1)  
Supply hydraulic pressure to the hydraulic systems 1, 2, and 3 (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Set the No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 switches of the FLT CONTROL SHUTOFF TAIL VALVE to the NORM position. The switches are on the Pilots' Overhead Maintenance Panel, P461.

Set the No. 1 and 2 switches of the STAB TRIM hydraulic to the AUTO position. The switches are on the Pilots' Control Stand.

 (4)  
Do this task: Ground Test - Elevator Servo (Ref 22-10-00/501).

 (a)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <SERVO-ELEVATOR.

 (b)  
Make sure that no fault messages show.

 (c)  
Continue with the instructions shown on the CDU until this message shows:

 


 ENGAGE AUTOPILOT L C R
 TO CMD POSITION
 (d)  
Push the applicable autopilot CMD (L, C, or R) button on the Mode Control Panel.

 NOTE:____The left EAS is connected to the left FCC. The center EAS is connected to the center FCC. The right EAS is connected to the right FCC.

 (e)  
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <CONTINUE.
