 (3)  Remove the hydraulic pressure from hydraulic systems 1, 2, 3, and 4 (Ref 29-11-00/201)

Put the FLT CONTROL HYD POWER WING 1, 2, 3, and 4 switches to the SHUTOFF position. The switches are on the Pilot's Overhead Maintenance Panel (P461).

Open these circuit breakers and attach the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:


 (a)  P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
 1) 7D12, FLT CONT CMPTR C SERVO
 2) 7D13, FLT CONT CMPTR C PWR
 3) 7E9, MCP L
 4) 7E18, MCP R

 (6)  
Put in the #2 and #3 rigging pins (Fig. 401).

Install the control wheel straightedge tool (Fig. 401).


 G. Procedure
 S 164-037
 (1)  
Clean the mating surfaces where the LAS attaches to the aircraft structure.

 (2)  
Install the LAS.

 (a)  
Hold the LAS (6) in position.

 (b)  
Install the mounting bolts (3), washers (4), and nuts (5).

 (c)  
Attach the control rod to the LAS crank arm with the bushing (2) and bolt (1).

 


 CAUTION: DO NOT PERMIT CONTAMINATION TO GET INTO THE HYDRAULIC
_______ PORTS OR THE ELECTRICAL PORT. THE LAS IS A SENSITIVE DEVICE AND CONTAMINATION CAN CAUSE FAILURE.
 (d)  
Remove the caps from the hydraulic lines and the hydraulic ports.

 (e)  
Install the hydraulic lines on the LAS (6).


 NOTE: Clean the hydraulic fluid from the airplane surfaces and
____ components. The fluid can cause corrosion.
 (f)  
Remove the caps from the electrical connector and the LAS electrical port.

 (g)  
Install the electrical connector on the LAS (6).

With a bonding meter, measure the resistance between the LAS and the bare metal airplane structure. Make sure it is less than 3.0 milliohms (0.003ohms).

Apply a fillet seal to the mating surfaces where the LAS attaches to the airplane structure. Use BMS 5-95 sealant.

Remove the #2 and #3 rigging pins.

 H. Test the Lateral Autopilot Servo (LAS)

 1) 180E6, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 2
 2) 180E21, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 4
 3) 180H7, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 1
 4) 180H22, LATERAL CONT VLV SYS 3
