Install waveguide switch on waveguide switch support bracket and secure with a gasket and four screws and lockwashers.
(5)
Install both R/T feeder waveguide with gaskets and secure with four screws and lockwashers on each flange.
(6)
Install electrical connector on waveguide switch.

6. Remove Waveguide On All Passenger Airplanes (Fig. 401)

NOTE: In order to provide sufficient body axis movement to separate mating
____ waveguide flanges, it may be necessary to loosen support clamps on other waveguide sections to provide sufficient movement toward a flexible section.
A. Remove waveguide section 1.
(1)
Open nose radome to gain access to waveguide section 1 (Ref 34-43-03).
(2)
Remove waveguide quick disconect from weather radar antenna.
(3)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flanges between sections 1 and 2.
(4)
Remove two screws and support clamp from section 1.
(5)
Remove section 1 with gasket.
(6)
Place protective covers over exposed waveguide flanges.
B. Remove waveguide section 2.
(1)
Open nose radome to gain access to waveguide section 2 (Ref 34-43-03).
(2)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flange between sections 1 and 2.
(3)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flange between sections 2 and 3.
(4)
Remove two screws and support clamp and section 2.
(5)
Remove section 2 with gasket.
(6)
Place protective covers over exposed waveguide flanges.
C. Remove waveguide section 3.
NOTE: To remove waveguide section 3, access is required inside the nose
____ radome and into the right crawlway forward of the main electronic equipment center.
(1)
Open nose radome to gain access to waveguide section 3 (Ref 34-43-03).
(2)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flange between sections 2 and 3.
(3)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flange between sections 3 and 4.
(4)
Remove eight screws from bulkhead flange.
(5)
Remove two screws and locknuts and four washers at each section 3 support clamp.
(6)
Support and carefully remove section 3 forward through hole in bulkhead.
(7)
Place protective covers over exposed waveguide flanges.
D. Remove waveguide section 4.
NOTE: To remove waveguide section 4, access is required into the right
____ crawlway forward of the main electronic equipment center.
(1) Remove waveguide guard from section 4.

Remove four screws and lockwashers from flange between sections 3 and 4.
(3)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flange between sections 4 and 5.
(4)
Remove two screws and locknuts and four washers at each section 4 support clamp.
(5)
Remove section 4 and gasket.
(6)
Place protective covers over exposed waveguide flanges.
E. Remove reflectometer or waveguide section 5.
NOTE: To remove reflectemeter or waveguide section 5 , access is required into the right crawlway forward of the main electronic equipment center.
(1)
Remove four screws and lockwashers between sections 4 and reflectometer or waveguide section 5.
(2)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flange between reflectometer or section 5 and section 6.
(3)
Remove support clamp and section 5.
(4)
Place protective covers over exposed waveguide flanges.
F. Remove waveguide section 6.
NOTE: To remove waveguide section 6, access is required into the right
____ crawlway forward of the main electronic equipment center.
G. Remove the No. 1 and No. 2 receiver/transmitters from the forward equipment center rack (AMM 34-43-02/401).
(1)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flange connecting section 6 to waveguide switch. Separate section 6 from waveguide switch.
(2)
Remove four screws and lockwashers from flange connecting section 6 to waveguide switch or R/T mount waveguide. Separate section 6 from waveguide switch, or R/T mount waveguide.
