Loosen four captive screws on front of lightplate assembly.
(3)
Pull lightplate assembly straight out from LSP to disconnect coaxial connector.
B. Lighplate Assembly Installation
(1)
Place lightplate assembly on front of LSP so that coaxial connector is mated.
(2)
Torque captive screws evenly to 5 (|0.2) inch-pounds.
(3)
Close PMS LSP circuit breaker on the P7 panel.
4. Limit Mode and Engine Rating Key Lens Caps and Lamps (Fig. 301)

A. Lens Caps and Lamps Removal
(1)
Remove lightplate assembly as described in paragraph 3.A.
(2)
Pull lens cap out until base of cap clears switch assembly.
(3)
Rotate lens cap 90 degrees on retainer wires to gain access to lens cap lamps.
(4)
Remove lamps from lens cap.
NOTE: Removing lamps from retainer side of lens cap will aid
____ disengaging and engaging retainer wires.
(5) Disengage double wire retainer from side of lens cap.
B. Lens Caps and Lamps Installation
(1)
Engage double wire retainer in side of lens cap.
(2)
Install lamps in lens cap.
(3)
Align lens cap with switch base and press cap into switch base.
(4)
Install lightplate assembly as described in paragraph 3.B.
5. Derate Slew Switch Lens Caps and Lamps (Fig. 301)

A. Lens Caps and Lamps Removal
(1)
Remove lightplate assembly as described in paragraph 3.A.
(2)
Remove lens cap from slew switch by pulling outward. Use tang end of bulb assembly and removal tool (Fig. 302) in grooves of lens cap (Fig. 303) if required.
(3)
Use barrel end of bulb assembly and removal tool to grasp and pull lamp from switch (Fig. 303).
B. Lens Caps and Lamps Installation
(1)
Grasp replacement lamp at junction between glass and plastic base with barrel end of bulb assembly and removal tool and carefully insert lamp leads into their sockets in the switch.
(2)
To install lens cap, place cap over switch, being sure that arrow is right side up, then press cap onto the switch.
(3)
Install lightplate assembly as described in paragraph 3.B.

6. Derate Display Lamps (Fig. 301)

A. Lamp Removal
(1)
Remove lightplate assembly as described in paragraph 3.A.
(2)
Loosen captive screws in display and pull display cap.
(3)
Remove lamps using lamp removal tool (Tun Sol DT1973A).
B. Lamp Installation
(1)
Grasp replacement lamp with lamp removal tool and carefully insert lamp leads into their sockets in the display.
(2)
Install display cap and tighten captive screws.
(3)
Install lightplate assembly as described in paragraph 3.B.
7. Test LSP Lamps
______________
A. Prepare for Test
(1)
Provide electrical power (Ref 24-22-00).
(2)
Check for proper operation of pilot's instrument panel illumination, indicator lamps and annunciator light (Ref 33-11-00).
(3)
Provide cooling air to electronic equipment (Ref 21-58-00).
CAUTION: ENSURE EQUIPMENT COOLING IS OPERATING BEFORE TURN ON OF
_______ ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS, OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT MAY RESULT. EQUIPMENT COOLING SYSTEM MUST BE SET FOR NORMAL COOLING AS DESCRIBED IN 21-58-00.
