5. Install Waveguide Switch (Fig.________________________401)
A. On Passenger Airplanes with RCA AVQ-30X Weather Radar
(1)
Check that circuit breakers listed in the Prepare for Removal are open.
(2)
Remove protective covers from waveguide flanges and electrical connectors.
(3)
Install the dummy load, if removed, on the waveguide switch.
(4)
Install waveguide switch on R/T mount with gasket and secure with screws and lockwashers.
(5)
Place each R/T feeder waveguide flange on waveguide switch with gasket and secure with four screws and lockwashers on each flange.
(6)
Install flexible waveguide from the antenna with gasket to waveguide switch and secure with four screws and lockwashers.
(7)
Connect airplane electrical connector to waveguide switch connector.
B. On Passenger Airplanes with RDR-1F Weather Radar
(1)
Check that circuit breakers listed in the Prepare for Removal are open.
(2)
Remove protective covers from waveguide flanges and electrical connectors.
(3)
Install the dummy load, if removed, on the waveguide switch.
(4)
Place waveguide switch between R/T feeder waveguide flanges with gasket.
(5)
Secure waveguide switch to R/T mount by installing two screws and lockwashers thru each R/T feeder waveguide flange.
(6)
Install other two screws and lockwashers on each R/T feeder waveguide flange to secure waveguide siwtch to R/T feeder waveguides.
(7)
Install flexible waveguide from the antenna with gasket to waveguide switch and secure with four screws and lockwashers.
(8)
Connect airplane electrical connector to waveguide switch connector.
C. On Passenger Airplanes with Bendix RDR-4A Weather Radar

(1)
Check that circuit breakers listed in the Prepare for Removal are open.
(2)
Remove protective covers from waveguide flanges and electrical connectors.
(3)
Place waveguide switch between the R/T mount waveguide and R/T feeder waveguide flanges.
(4)
Secure waveguide switch at each of the three flanges with four screws and lockwashers.
(5)
Connect airplane electrical connector to waveguide switch connector.
D. On Freighter Airplanes with RCA AVQ-30X Weather Radar
(1)
Check that circuit breakers listed in the Prepare for Removal are open.
(2)
Remove protective covers from waveguide flanges and electrical connectors.
(3)
Install dummy load on waveguide port No. 4, if removed, with a gasket and four screws and lockwashers.
(4)
Make sure antenna waveguide is properly installed on the waveguide switch support bracket.
(5)
Align the waveguide switch with port No. 2 to mate with the antenna waveguide.
(6)
Install waveguide switch on waveguide switch support bracket and secure with a gasket and four screws and lockwashers.
(7)
Install both R/T feeder waveguide with gaskets and secure with four screws and lockwashers on each flange.
(8)
Install electrical connector on waveguide switch.
E. On Freighter Airplanes with Bendix RDR-1F Weather Radar
(1)
Check that circuit breakers listed in the Prepare for Removal are open.
(2)
Remove protective covers from waveguide flanges and electrical connectors.
(3)
Install dummy load, if required with gasket and four screws and lockwasher to waveguide switch.
(4)
Secure waveguide switch to R/T mount No. 1 by placing two screws, with lockwashers, through each waveguide flange and mount.
(5)
Install two others screws and lockwashers at each flange to secure R/T feeder waveguides to waveguide switch.
(6)
Install flexible waveguide section from antenna with gasket and secure with four screws and lockwashers.
(7)
Install electrical connector from waveguide switch.
F. On Freighter Airplanes with Collins WXR-700X Weather Radar
(1)
Check that circuit breakers listed in the Prepare for Removal are open.
(2)
Remove protective covers from waveguide flanges and electrical connectors.
(3)
Make sure antenna waveguide is properly installed on the waveguide switch support bracket.
